After finishing my ICO tribute, I wanted to take a step back and showcase the individual props I designed for the project. However, seeing them all together sparked a new wave of inspiration!
I ended up creating this new scene to see how these assets could live in a different composition. It was a great exercise in Level Art and Set Dressing, focusing on how props can be reused to tell a new story while keeping the poetic atmosphere of Fumito Ueda's work.
Everything here (except the Ivy) was modeled in Blender and integrated into UE5. This project was a massive learning curve for me from my first steps in Blender to finally spend more time on Substance Designer and my limited experience with this software.
I’m really happy with how these assets hold up in a different light. Hope you enjoy this 'behind the scenes' look at the pieces that built my tribute!
